Mark Barrington was born and raised in St. Louis, MO by his parents Jay & Carol Barrington along with his younger brother Kyle. When he was 15 years old, Mark became Cutco Knives’ youngest salesman where he managed $75,000 and recruited 1,200 people over four summers, saying the best part of the job was getting people involved and giving them a career.
At age 18, he moved to Colorado to attend Colorado Christian University. Making a life in Colorado had been a dream of his since visiting when 13 years old. Mark loves the beauty of Colorado outdoor activities including the mountains, fishing, hiking, skiing and everything else the 300 days of sunshine and great weather has to offer.
Mark graduated from CCU in 2001 with a degree in communication. Four years later on July 19, he married Jammie. Colorado is a great place to start a family and Jammie and Mark plan to have kids but are currently enjoying their time growing together.

After college, Mark worked as a manufacture representative selling construction screws and learning how to start a business from scratch and build relationships. The best part: being able to say he sold screws for a living with a straight face and no pun intended.
A few years later he switched to the auto industry and became district manager at Auto Point. Currently, he is a Best Card LLC employee and enjoys the independence of running his own deal.
Mark ran for city council as a representative of Ward Three in 2003 because he wanted to bring a new kind of face and generation to lead the city of Lakewood. That passion drives him today in his current campaign. When running for city council, he learned how to effectively listen to what citizens needed and continues to actively listen.
Scott Whitney (CFO Manager Treasuer)
Scott is married to his lovely wife, Casey, who is a Denver native. They have a son, Jake, and a daughter, Payton. He is the owner/operator of Auto Masters, a detail and reconditioning company that provides services to car dealerships throughout the metro area. He enjoys swimming, soccer, biking, and playing outdoors with his family.
Scott supports Mark Barrington because Mark is an honest, hard-working, responsible individual that has faith in capitalism, traditional values, and limited government.
Mark stands for individual achievement, generosity toward your fellow man, and a belief in the private sector to meet the needs of the marketplace. Government is a needed part of American life but should be limited in its scope so as not to overtax and intrude upon the private citizenry.
Jessica Petzel (media coordinator)
Born near Chicago, IL; grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, St. Louis, and Seattle, she recently graduated from the University of Missouri in May, 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
Before volunteering with the Mark Barrington 2010 campaign, Jessica was a law clerk where she set her detail-oriented mindset to learning the some of the finer points of financial law. Previous to that job, she was a residential advisor and enjoyed gathering the inevitable war stories along with crisis management skills and building upon communication strategies learned first in from her journalism background. Throughout college, Jessica volunteered at a non-profit, mentoring younger students, event planning that included dinner parties and retreats for 100+ people, and growing a team based approach to life. She recently started at Graebel, an international moving company.
For fun, Jessica is getting to know Colorado by hiking JeffCo’s Open Space parks, skiing the greens and blues at Winter Park, finding good places to go out, and enjoying a good book by the fire.
